The WBW Project Week 13: Of personal records, running tactics and breakthroughs (a.k.a. the sub-hour 10K is official!)

Last week, I completed my 2nd 10K run by way of AACE’s GOOD Run. On that Sunday I also set a PR that I’ve been eyeing since I started running distances beyond 5K: the sub-hour 10K.
To put things into context, I registered my sub-30 run on my 11th 5K.
I’m as happy as any amateur runner can get.
A strategy I have picked up from my two PR setting runs is to identify another runner that had a pace just a bit faster than I have, but not too much. Once I’ve eyed whoever that will be, I maintain a pace in such a way that he is still in sight. I am forced to do a chase without exhausting myself that way. The thing is, now I can’t go beyond one hour. Ma-pride ako like that. Hehe…
On top of that, I’ve registered the biggest weight loss I’ve ever logged within the WBW Project to date. I had to measure myself twice just to check if the numbers I was seeing were right.
Week 13 (April 5, 2011, Tuesday)
I’m as happy as any weight-watcher can get.
Looks like everything’s back on track. :)
